One man is dead and another in critical condition after a shootout Thursday night at a house in DeKalb County, police said.

DeKalb County police Capt. S.R. Fore said a 26-year-old man was brought to a fire station on Derrill Drive shortly before 9 p.m., suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, Fore said.

Fore said investigators determined that the shooting happened at a home on Glenco Drive, in a neighborhood off Glenwood Road.

When officers went to the house, the found a 30-year-old man dead from apparent gunshot wounds, he said.

Fore said the two men were apparently acquaintances who “got into a dispute and ended up shooting each other.”

The dead man’s name has also not been released.
