A 57-year-old Norcross man died in a single car accident in Kennesaw early Saturday morning, according to Cobb County police.

The accident occurred around 1:15 a.m. at I-575 northbound at the exit to Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw.

According to investigators, Byron C. Brown was driving a silver 2009 Hyundai Azera north on I-575 around 1:15 a.m. He exited onto the ramp to Barrett Parkway, but did not slow down at the bottom of the ramp. Brown continued northbound, crossing all lanes of Barrett Parkway and hit a retaining wall on the north side of the roadway at a high rate of speed, police said.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
