The Memphis Grizzlies made history over the weekend by drafting the youngest player in NBA history.
8-year-old Charvis Brewer has cerebral palsy and can't walk on his own, but that didn't stop the Grizzlies from making his dream come true.
With the help of the Make-A-Wish foundation Brewer signed a contract and is now attending games and practices. He also got a whistle, a draft hat and he's even starting to take on a coaching role.
"He better hit this one. Shoot this one! Now guard each other in practice. Why they ain't guarding each other? Where the coach at? He ain't doing nothing, he's just standing right there." (Via WMC-TV)
The youngster also had his own press conference. When reporters asked him what the team should be working on he had an answer for that too.
"Shooting. Doing layups. Dunking. Dunking the ball. Doing alleys. And that's all I got to say." (Via WREG)
Grizzlies players made him feel right at home with his new team. The Grizzlies team page says, "In true team spirit, Zach Randolf took young Brewer under his wing to help the Grizzlies young gun get acquainted with his new digs at Grizzlies HQ."
Brewer was welcomed to the team Monday night when the Grizzlies hosted the Chicago Bulls. Brewer was wearing number 11.
