A Michigan dad has landed a job working at Costco after his daughter’s Twitter thread went viral last month.

Rebecca Mix tweeted in May that her dad, Jeff Mix, was laid off due to COVID and said he wanted to work at Costco.

“my dad has been laid off due to covid and now that he’s vaccinated he’s itching to go back to work, so i told him i’d help him with his resume. i asked him where he wants to work, and he said, SO earnestly, ‘costco seems like a nice place’ i’m gonna cry lol,” Rebecca Mix wrote.

Mix added that her dad is “a very nice man who will work obnoxiously & is painfully helpful.”

She also shared a photo of Jeff proudly holding a plate of nachos.

The thread gained a lot of attention, and two weeks later, Mix had an update for her new followers. A Costco store manager in Michigan had sent her a message on Facebook.

It read, “What is your Dad’s name? Has he filled out an application on our website? That would be the first necessary step for a possible interview. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this.”

Jeff nailed the interview and got the job with Costco.

Last week, Mix shared a picture of her dad’s Costco Wholesale employee badge and noted that her dad has already tried signing her up for a Costco membership. She also thanked Craig Jelinek, president and CEO of Costco, for his hand in Jeff’s hiring.

Rebecca Mix’s Twitter bio now reads, “rebecca mix, proud daughter of a costco employee.”
