Man falls onto MARTA tracks

A visually impaired man is expected to recover after falling onto MARTA tracks at the Civic Center station Tuesday evening.
According to Channel 2 Action News, the 39-year-old man got confused and stepped off the MARTA platform. The man mistook the sound of an arriving southbound train as that of the northbound train that was due to arrive.
Bystanders were able to alert the incoming northbound train to stop before it reached the man, Channel 2 said.
The man was pulled from the tracks and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to a MARTA spokeswoman.
