A man died early Monday when he lost control of his vehicle on Interstate 85 at North Druid Hills, according to DeKalb County police.

According to police, a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling on the access road parallel interstate when the driver attempted to enter onto the entry ramp of northbound I-85. The driver lost control of the SUV, causing it to travel down an embankment and flip into the roadway. The vehicle came to rest in the third lane on I-85 northbound, according to police spokesman Capt. Stephen Fore.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the SUV, Fore said. The passenger got out of the vehicle and went for help.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No names have been released at this time.

This case is under investigation.
