A man accused of fatally shooting a woman and then shooting himself in Bartow County died Monday, authorities said.
Stanley Burton Smith, 61, of Cartersville, was flown to an Atlanta hospital in critical condition Saturday after he allegedly shot a 62-year-old woman in a domestic dispute, Bartow County sheriff’s Sgt. Jonathan Rogers confirmed.
Investigators determined the woman was shot numerous times. She died at the scene.
According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, the couple were living together at the home on Young Street.
The woman’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
