A man was killed Friday morning after he lost control on an interstate exit ramp and struck a guard rail, DeKalb County police said.

The 24-year-old driver was attempting to negotiate a curve on the ramp from I-20 East to I-285 before the crash, according to a police spokeswoman. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name was not released.

The resulting investigation shut down the exit ramp from about 3:45 a.m. until 6:30 a.m., cutting off access to I-285 in both directions, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
