ORIGINAL REPORT: One of five men arrested in connection with the killing of Bishop Wiley Jackson's brother has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Alejandro Pitts, 18, also pleaded guilty to gang activity and armed robbery. His plea deal came with a 30-year prison sentence, 25 years of which he has to serve.

Jerrick Jackson, 47, was the younger brother of the Rev. Jackson, pastor of Gospel Tabernacle Cathedral. Jerrick Jackson was slain as he and his fiancé returned to his Lowe Street home May 17, 2013.

The couple arrived at the residence about 1 a.m., when they were approached by several males with guns drawn, Atlanta police said at the time.

After robbing Jackson and the woman of personal items in the driveway, the suspects ordered the couple to take them inside the home. Once inside the home, Jackson struggled with at least one of the gunmen after the robbing crew attempted to go upstairs.

One of the suspects then shot Jackson several times before the group fled the scene.
