Man, 3 dogs found dead after house fire in Atlanta

A man and three dogs were killed Saturday evening after a fire broke out at a southwest Atlanta home, officials said.

Fire crews were sent to the home on Oakland Terrace after someone reported the blaze about 8:15 p.m., the Atlanta Fire Department said in a statement. The home was still ablaze when firefighters arrived at the scene.

AFRD responded to a home on Oakland Terrace in SW Atlanta last night at approx 8:15pm for a report of a house fire. Confirmed fire on arrival. Firefighters discovered a deceased male inside the home. Fire is currently under investigation. 3 dogs also perished in the fire.

While crews were inside the home working to put out the fire, they found the man’s body. Firefighters then found the bodies of the three dogs.

The victim’s name was not released. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
