A 22-year-old woman was charged with felony murder Tuesday in connection with a group fight in southwest Atlanta that left an 18-year-old woman dead.

According to police, "witnesses at the scene stated that a group of females were about to get into a fight" just before 2 a.m. Dec. 22 in the 2000 block of Alison Court. The suspect, Leronza Love of Atlanta, "produced a weapon and started firing, striking the victim in the head," police said.

The victim, Shykisha Dorsey, 18, of Atlanta, died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Love, also charged with aggravated assault, was booked into the Fulton County Jail. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.

Police could not say what prompted the fight or how many people were involved.
