Wanna help name Georgia’s Megabus? Now’s your chance

Is Georgia the peach or peanut state? What about the Empire State of the South?

Those are the three choices for the Megabus being named for Georgia. Online voters have between now and Aug. 17 to pick the name for the bus, the company said Tuesday. The express bus company, which serves Atlanta and Athens, is holding a contest to name buses in each state it services.

“We value our customers’ opinions and are excited to see the name they select to represent their state,” Dale Moser, CEO of megabus.com, said in an emailed statement. “This is our way of honoring the customers of each of the states that have helped our business to grow.”

The Georgia ballot includes the following options:

• The Empire State of the South

• The Peach State

• The Peanut State
