The Lawrenceville City Council approved a contract Monday to provide inspection services for the city’s 4,000 utility poles. It is anticipated that 800 wooden poles will be inspected per year. Replacement of unacceptable poles will primarily be done by the city electric department or, if necessary, by contractor.

The $150,000 contract awarded to Southeastern Wood Pole Inspectors is funded by the Contract Labor Fund. This is the first of four renewal options. There is no increase in price.
