Motorists may soon find it easier to navigate Midtown Atlanta, if the City Council approves a proposal to convert 13th Street NE from one-way eastbound to a two-way thoroughfare between Spring Street NW and Peachtree Walk NE.

Three adjacent developers – 1163 West Peachtree Street Apartments Investors LLC, at its namesake address; and 14th Peachtree Apartments Holdings LLC and 14th Peachtree Phase II LLC, both at 22 Fourteenth St. NE – would receive transportation impact fee credits in exchange for doing the two-way conversion, according to the proposed ordinance out of the Council’s Transportation Committee.

The ordinance also would authorize Public Works to allow the installation of a traffic signal where 13th crosses West Peachtree Street NW, if adjoining property owners ask to do so and the request is warranted.

“The two-way conversation project is anticipated to provide better connectivity for commuters in Midtown Atlanta,” the ordinance states.
