Update at 5:40 p.m.:

It appears Roswell Road has reopened after down power lines caused the road to be closed in both directions for a short stretch.

Officials had originally said it’d be back open about this time.

Original:

Down power lines have caused authorities to close a stretch of Roswell Road in East Cobb, according to officials.

Commissioner JoAnn Birrell sent out an email alert to constituents at about 1:40 p.m. saying Roswell Road was closed in both directions between Timber Ridge Road and Bishop Lake Road.

The live traffic map from the county department of transportation says the closure will be in place until 5 p.m.

Officials gave no directions for rerouting, but there's Johnson Ferry Road to the north and Lower Roswell Road to the south.
