Expect more warm and less wet in the coming days. After Tuesday.
Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said temperatures this week will begin feeling more like summer, with highs climbing from the upper 70s Monday to around 87 degrees by Friday. Overnight lows should be in the low 70s all week.
Minton’s forecast calls for 60 percent chance of rain Tuesday with 40 percent Wednesday and Thursday and 30 percent Friday.
Rains through the weekend kept much of Georgia, including metro Atlanta under flash flood watch through Monday night. Overnight Sunday rainfall totals ranged from one-half to almost two inches and bought down a few trees across metro.
Another 1 to 2 inches of rain was predicted across north Georgia through Monday night, Minton said.
