The Duluth Police department is currently working to install license plate recognition cameras throughout the city as part of Phase I of the citywide camera program. In order to complete the equipment purchases for this year, the city will use $9,428 in 2017 SPLOST Public Safety funds.

The police department will also utilize $140,572 for the purchase of new Motorola Solutions portable radios for the department’s officers. This purchase, along with the camera purchase, will also be funded using 2017 SPLOST Public Safety funds allocated in Duluth for police equipment.
