The Georgia State Patrol is searching for a woman who allegedly crashed into a group of girls during a street fight Wednesday in Griffin.

Shameka Sharell Peoples, 31, of Griffin, drove into a crowded street in her gold Lexus SUV and injured five people, officials said.

She left the scene before troopers arrived, according to the GSP.

The incident began as the girls were fighting about 6:20 p.m. in the middle of Quilly Street, the GSP said.

One of the girls was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital, and the others were taken to Spalding County Hospital, the GSP said. Their conditions are unknown.

Anyone with information or any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact the GSP at (770) 254-7201.
