Coweta County officials on Monday revoked an alcohol license for a sports bar where more than two dozen people were arrested in June.

Police had been investigating the Hoops Bar and Grill on Old Corinth Road in Newnan for months before a raid in which many patrons were accused of violating terms of their probation, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

A local rapper at a “Welcome home from prison party” and the bar owner said they believe officials are targeting them. The party was in honor of Montel Whitaker, who goes by the stage name M. Deezy.

Owner Jasmine Arnold told Channel 2 Action News her business has slowed down because deputies scared off customers, 99 percent of whom she says are African-American like her.

"When I came into this business, it wasn't just to stay in business for a year,” Arnold said. “It was something I had dreamed about. It was something I worked hard for and it was something I intended on keeping."

Sheriff Mike Yeager told Channel 2 the people his deputy arrested are "thugs" and they will continue to arrest people who are committing crimes.

County officials said Arnold can appeal the license revocation.
