An employee of an Atlanta gas station told police that the son of a fired employee robbed the business last Tuesday, police said.
Video surveillance released Wednesday by Atlanta police shows the Aug. 8 robbery at the Exxon gas station on Metropolitan Parkway.
Two men inside the store forced the employee on duty, Eskinder Kidaw, through a protective glass door into the cash register area, according to a police report.
The gunman, one of two men in masks who forcibly stole cash from the register, looked in Kidaw’s eyes. That man, Kidaw told police, is the son of a former employee.
Kidaw described the former employee’s son as a short, chubby man with dreadlocks and a small tattoo under his left eye, but Kidaw didn’t know his name, the report states. Kidaw also couldn’t remember the name of the fired employee.
Police searched the area immediately after the robbery was reported but didn’t find anyone matching the description of the suspects and none of the cameras in the area were working, the police report states.
