Soon, when Fluffy or Rover or [insert your pet’s name here] requires medical attention, you’ll have another option over making the oft-dreaded trip to the vet.

MVS Pet Care, a franchise network of house call veterinarians, is entering the Atlanta market. MVS, which stands for Mobile Veterinary Services, lets vets start their own house call practice or add mobile capabilities to an existing practice.

The business offers general wellness care and vaccinations, in addition to illness and injury care, in clients’ homes. Trained vets will also provide end of life services, including hospice care and in-home euthanasia.

The Atlanta expansion is led by franchisees Ian Haywood and Emanuel Graves, who will operate two house call vans in the city. Veterinarians receive training with Dr. Jeremy Gransky, a DVM and MVS partner who has practiced house call veterinary medicine in the Boston area for 13 years, a press release said.

Pets will have "access to the highest quality veterinary care, right in the comfort of their own homes," MVS CEO Todd Giatrelis said in a statement. Veterinarians interested in working in Atlanta should contact Giatrelis at todd@mvspetcare.com or call 617-697-3534.

The business anticipates launching in Atlanta in late fall.
