The Sandy Springs City Council has awarded a $177,531 contract to renew a stormwater detention facility that has become overgrown with weeds and has accumulated sediment.

Site Engineering Inc. submitted the lowest of two bids for the project, designated the North Powers Ferry Phase II Stormwater BMP Maintenance Project, in the rear yard of 5280 Cross Roads Manor NW.

Improvements to be made by the contractor include site grading, storm pipe and storm structure removal and installation, curb and gutter, excavation material removal, and erosion control measures, according to a staff report to the council.
