Roswell is preparing for an annual bike ride and street party. Registration is open for the Mayor’s Ride 2020 on April 26, where cyclists will ride 18, 42 and 64-mile distances. The ride coincides with the Roswell Moves festival along Canton Street.

Bike Roswell, a nonprofit group that supports cycling in Roswell, hosts the 8 a.m. Mayor's Ride at Roswell Area Park. The 18-mile distance is a flat surface ride, and the longer distances are increasingly challenging. Early entry fees are $40 through March 31 for non-members and $30 for members. Fees for all cyclists increase to $50 on April 1, and $60 on the day of the event.

Roswell Moves activities take place on Canton Street from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

“It’s a cookout, usually with about 500 riders,” said Jackie Tyson, event spokesperson.

An array of free Roswell Moves activities include outdoor yoga classes, chalk artists presented by Roswell Arts Fund, and a Kids’ Safety Bicycle Rodeo. The rodeo hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Historic Roswell is an obstacle course for children age 12 and under.

Young cyclists who perform well in the bike rodeo can also participate in a pump track circuit course provided by Roswell-Alpharetta Mountain Bike Association and REI outdoor retail store.
