A Forsyth County restaurant was inspected three times in February, and each time points were taken off because of roach activity in the kitchen.

After failing two health inspections, Dragon Gate, 3280 Keith Bridge Road, Cumming, passed its latest follow-up inspection with a 75/C, but still had live roaches in the kitchen and dead ones on the floor, the inspector said.

The restaurant scored a 51/U on a routine inspection in early February, then a 63/U on the first follow-up inspection. Both times roaches were observed in the kitchen, according to inspection reports. Live and dead roaches were found during the initial inspection, and “dead roaches were throughout the kitchen” during the second inspection.

In addition to the roach activity, food throughout the kitchen was uncovered and exposed to contamination during the latest health inspection.

Dragon Gate also repeated other food safety violations in all three inspections.

Among those, drinking glasses that were stored as clean were still dirty with food debris. Clean plates were stacked wet. Personal items were stored in the sushi area. The restaurant was still re-using old containers. And the floors underneath equipment and along base boards had accumulated grease, food debris and dirt.

Dragon Gate will be re-inspected again.
