A Buford family was shocked when they woke up Wednesday morning to find that their front door and cars had been hit repeatedly with a baseball bat, causing significant damage, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Neighbors think the assailant may have been targeting someone who had moved out of the Ginger Street home more than a year ago, according to Channel 2.

The homeowners slept through the attack, but it was captured on video by a Ring doorbell. The victims posted the video on the social media platform Nextdoor, and neighbors said the man may have had a conflict with the home’s previous resident.

A female resident, who Channel 2 did not identify, said she did not think the attacker wanted to break in, but cause significant damage to their home and cars.

Gwinnett County police told Channel 2 that they have identified the suspect, but did not disclose his name.
