Change of plans, Atlanta.

Peachtree Street will remain open to traffic despite earlier plans to shut it down at 9 a.m. in advance of a rally for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Officials had planned to shut down Peachtree Street from Ponce de Leon Avenue to 3rd Street near the Fox Theater, where Trump will kick off his campaign rally at noon.

By 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, the anticipated crowd had not developed, Atlanta police Sgt. Warren Pickard said.

“Therefore, the decision has been made to leave Peachtree Street unobstructed at this time,” he said. “If the crowd dictates otherwise we will adjust accordingly.”

If a barricade is needed later, only people with tickets to the rally will be allowed through Peachtree. Atlanta’s Herman Cain will introduce Trump at the rally.

Trump's last stop in Atlanta was for a rally on Feb. 21 at the Georgia World Congress Center.

This time, his stop at the Fox isn’t the only reason he’s coming to Atlanta.

Two of Georgia's top Republicans, Gov. Nathan Deal and Sen. David Perdue, hosted a private fundraiser for the presumptive Republican nominee Wednesday morning. Perdue was not at the fundraiser because "the United States Senate is debating critical legislation right now that could negatively impact Georgia's water supply," according to a statement from his office.
