A student had an unloaded gun on campus Tuesday at Sutton Middle School, officials said.

The incident happened at the end of the school day as classes were being dismissed, Atlanta Public Schools spokeswoman Kimberly Willis-Green told Channel 2 Action News.

Faculty and school resource officers responded immediately, Willis-Green said. No one was in danger and parents were notified shortly after the incident, she said.

School police are investigating.
