The Marietta Police and Fire departments will offer Stop The Bleed training to residents.

The Marietta Police and Fire departments will team up with WellStar Kennestone Hospital to offer a training session to teach residents how to stop bleeding in emergency situations.

The Stop The Bleed seminar will be held from 6:30-830 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Marietta High School. The program is designed to help the community apply aid to injured parties until emergency medical services crews arrive at an  incident location or provide assistance if medical crews become overwhelmed.

The Marietta Police Department’s program is an offshoot of its efforts to teach residents the concepts of the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events program. More than 16,000 people have participated in the agency’s active shooter training events.

Marietta High School is at 1171 Whitlock Avenue. Anyone interested can register to attend the training by clicking here.
