Warmer (and hopefully drier) weather has arrived in Cobb County, and the city of Marietta will celebrate the change in seasons with its annual Glover Park Concert Series.
The six-part series featuring local and regional acts will be held on the last Friday of each month from April through September. All concerts will begin at 8 p.m., rain or shine.
Marietta’s 2020 series kicks off April 24 with a show by Grapevine, which is known for its beach and oldies tunes.
The rest of the lineup includes:
•May 29: Fly By Radio (pop/rock)
•June 26: Next Level Band (Motown/R&B)
•July 31: Yacht Rock Schooner (smooth 70’s)
•Aug. 28: Super Deluxe (variety party band)
•Sept. 25: The Big Chicken Beatles Band (Beatles tribute band)
Marietta’s concerts are free, but anyone who wants a better view will be able to purchase a table for a fee. The city will accept table reservations on a first-come, first-serve basis at 8 a.m. on the first working day of the month.
Concert-goers can bring a picnic dinner (including beer or wine) or choose to dine at one of the restaurants around the square.
Residents can set up lawn chairs and blankets at Glover Park and tables will be allowed in the street after 5:30 p.m. on concert days. Marietta will not allow the use of any personal tables, plastic ground coverings, ropes, tape, stakes or anything else to section off areas inside the park. These items will be removed.
