Marietta culinary arts teacher wins honor

Ginger Pratt, a culinary arts teacher at Marietta High School, has won the 2012 Georgia Restaurant Educator Excellence Award.

Pratt, a chef, was honored by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

"Her leadership, professionalism and dedication to educational excellence provide our students with qualified, real-world learning experiences," said Tim Brown, assistant principal at Marietta High.

Pratt and the ProStart culinary team at Marietta High placed 4th among 14 teams competing at annual Georgia ProStart Competition held on March 23.
