A man has been convicted of armed robbery after stealing electronics from another man he met on a dating app, the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office said.

Treston Dartrey Rogers, 18, was convicted of one count of armed robbery on Sept. 28 after a four-day trial.

Rogers met the victim on a dating app in June 2017. On June 12, Rogers went to the victim’s home, held him at gunpoint and hit him several times in the head, the DA’s office said. Roger then took a laptop, a Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 2DS and an iPhone, then left.

A detective on the case made a profile on the dating app on which the victim and Rogers met. The detective connected with Rogers on the app and arranged a meeting, after which, Rogers was arrested and charged.

Rogers has been sentenced to 20 years, with 15 to be served in prison. He was sentenced immediately after his conviction Thursday.
