A man was fatally shot in the head Saturday morning in northwest Atlanta, police said.

The incident happened in an apartment in the 200 block of Harwell Place, Atlanta police spokesman Donald Hannah said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Darius Rippy, 46, of Atlanta.

His girlfriend said she came home and found the man dead on the living room floor, Hannah said. He had been shot multiple times and police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
