The Lawrenceville City Council recently voted to expand the Downtown Development Authority boundaries to help spur economic development in additional areas of the city. The expansion includes areas along Buford Drive from Ga. 316 and surrounding Hurricane Shoals Road up to Depot Road where it joins existing DDA boundaries.

The Downtown Development Authority serves as a resource to the city council for the purpose of revitalizing downtown through smart land use planning, land banking, recruitment and retention of business to the area. The DDA serves as a gatekeeper ensuring the strategic execution of the city’s vision for development.

The expanded boundary is effective immediately.
