The Lawrenceville Duluth Alumni Chapter and Foundation of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity will hold its 2018 Scholarship & Awards Luncheon event on Sunday May 6 in the Georgia Gwinnett College Student Center Ballroom.

The main purpose of the event is to acknowledge 23 Gwinnett County African-American male high school seniors (recipients of the LDAC Scholarship Campaign), and graduating seniors from the Lawrenceville-Duluth Alumni Chapter Kappa League (Guide Right Program). This event gives the students’ parents, friends, relatives, mentors and their community a chance to applaud these young men in a formal and public way.

At this year’s event, 23 Gwinnett seniors and over 17 Kappa League mentees will be receiving up to $2000 in scholarship awards per student.

This marks seven consecutive years that the Lawrenceville-Duluth Alumni Chapter and Foundation of Kappa Alpha Psi will award scholarships to deserving African American high school seniors in Gwinnett County. Sunday, we will award more than $30,000 in scholarship monies, which will place us at a grand total of more than $159,000 since the scholarship program began in 2012.
