A Woodstock man was killed in a head-on crash Christmas night, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Steven Williams, 60, was driving a Ford Escape on Arnold Mill Road near O’Hara Drive when investigators say he crossed over the center line, striking a Jeep Liberty.

Deputies got to the scene, which is a couple miles from the Cherokee-Cobb county line, about 8 p.m. and pronounced Williams dead.

Sgt. Marianne Kelly said the Jeep’s 53-year-old Woodstock driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cherokee traffic officers will continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

State transportation officials said more people died on the roads this Christmas weekend compared to last year's holiday weekend.
