A Gwinnett County location of Einstein Bros. Bagels failed its recent health inspection, with officials noting dented cans, "black debris build-up" in the ice machine and multiple foods stored above the recommended temperature.

The eatery, located at the intersection of Duluth Highway and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in Lawrenceville, scored a 51/U on the inspection performed Monday.

According to the report, three large cans were found "significantly dented at the seams." Inspectors also "observed multiple unwashed fruits and vegetables ... stored over ready to eat foods." Multiple "potentially hazardous foods" -- including potato salad and sliced turkey -- were allegedly stored above the recommended temperature of 41 degrees.

The "black debris build-up on the interior portion of the ice machine in the kitchen" was a repeat violation, the report said.  The restaurant was also cited for an employee handling food while wearing a ring with stones.

A follow-up inspection will be completed within 10 days of Monday's evaluation.
