The Gwinnett County Clerk of Court’s office is closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, a county spokeswoman said.

The employee, a deputy clerk, notified managers that they received a positive test result on the evening of Friday, July 10. The employee, who regularly interacts with members of the public as part of their job, has not worked since.

The main clerk of court’s office in the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center will be closed until July 27 for cleaning. The satellite office at the Gwinnett County Detention Center will remain open. Any documents that must be filed through the clerk of court’s office can be filed online; real estate records should be filed through efile.gsccca.org and other documents should be filed through efilega.com.

The sick employee will not return to work until cleared by a doctor, spokeswoman Heather Sawyer said in a press release. All people that have been in contact with the employee have been notified and advised to self-quarantine and self-monitor for symptoms.
