The Georgia Department of Transportation has scheduled a lane closure this weekend along Interstate 75 in Cobb County.

One right southbound lane between Wade Green and Chastain roads will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, July 19 to Monday, July 22. Georgia DOT said the planned closure depends on weather conditions.

Georgia DOT states this closure will help protect workers and drivers while crews demolish the Steve Frey Road bridge decking and install a temporary barrier wall as part of the rehabilitation project.

Crews will install message boards to alert drivers of the lane closures. However, motorists should expect delays, slow down and pay attention while traveling through the work zone.
