Summer is here. But before you head to the beach, make sure to grab some sun screen, and get screened for skin cancer.

According to the National Cancer Institute, more than 2,000 cases of melanoma, the most dangerous type of skin cancer, will be diagnosed in Georgia this year.

On June 14, the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute in Alpharetta will host free skin cancer screenings from 6 to 8 p.m.

Medical professionals will provide assessments of your skin in a private setting. The recommended attire for a screening is shorts and a T-shirt.

Appointments are required, so call 404-531-4444 to set one up. Spanish interpreters will be on-site as well.

The hospital is located at 3400-A Old Milton Pkwy, Suite 130.
