Five students at Deerwood Academy were removed from a classroom Wednesday morning after they complained of skin irritation, an Atlanta Public Schools spokeswoman said.

The affected students were seen by a registered nurse and their parents were notified, district spokeswoman Kimberly Willis Green said in an emailed statement.

All other students in the classroom were relocated to another classroom after the incident, she said.

No information was given on the condition of the students who complained of skin irritation.

The district’s facilities and health services departments are investigating the incident at the campus, which is located in the 3000 block of Fairburn Road in southwest Atlanta.
