Gov. Nathan Deal appointed a three-person committee to investigate a Spalding County court clerk, according to an executive order signed Wednesday.

Officials within the Griffin Judicial Circuit asked for a review of “criminal charges, alleged misconduct in office or alleged incapacity” related to the performance of Spalding County Clerk of Superior and State Court Marcia Norris, the order states.

Deal appointed Attorney General Chris Carr, Tina Blankenship of Webster County and Greg Allen of Forsyth County to the committee and ordered it to report its findings to him within 30 days.
