Construction of the new dam on Lake Peachtree in Peachtree City will cause waters to lower and costs to rise.

The City Council heard an update on April 6 from Dan Davis of Integrated Science & Engineering regarding the timetable. Davis said the new estimated cost is $4.075 million, up from the original estimate of $3.46 million. The lake level will be lowered by eight feet in late August so construction can begin in November.

Weather permitting, the project would be complete and the lake back to full pool by May 2018.
