Addressing concerns about traffic congestion at Old National Highway and Interstates 85/285, the Georgia Department of Transportation has picked a local subcontractor to install video technology to modify traffic light timing based on traffic activity, the city of College Park said.
According to the city, in the absence of vehicles, signals would turn from green to red, letting more vehicles on the active paths pass without as much delay time.
Coordinating with sidewalk construction now underway on Old National Highway, the technology installation is slated for completion in early summer.
