Cobb County weather: Dry Monday, tough commute

The weather is comfortable in Cobb County this morning, but the commute is not.
Drier air has ushered in lower humidity, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said early Monday.
This is all thanks to Tropical Storm Chris, which is off the east coast, but not expected to impact Georgia, Minton said.
Tropical Storm Chris sits off the east coast while high pressure is wedged down the Appalachians bringing dry east wind this morning and lower humidity. TS Chris won't be a problem for Georgia and will stay off shore of the U.S. pic.twitter.com/JOrQk4ksd3

But with the dry weather, comes a tractor trailer fire on I-75. The early morning vehicle fire was out by 6:30 a.m., but the damage had been done, with the northern lanes of the interstate shut down north of Wade Green Road.
Terrible crash and fire I-75/nb shut down north of Wade Green Rd. (exit 273). That's a smoldering tractor trailer over the sound barrier wall. Traffic diverted off at Wade Green Rd. Take 92 back to I-75. #ATLtraffic pic.twitter.com/jlpnTAW6A0

Monday’s high temperature is expected to reach 90 degrees, Minton said. Rain chances return toward the end of the week.
