A discarded cigar ignited a brush fire that threatened four homes on Sunday, Hall County officials say.

The approximately 10-acre fire came close to home in the 3400 block of Southview Trail, Hall County Fire Services spokesman Capt. Zachary Brackett said.

While the main body of the fire had been extinguished by 2:15 p.m., firefighters were continuing to contain the scene, Brackett said.

No injuries were reported.
