A simple traffic stop led to the arrest of three people in connection with the death of a man at his Forsyth County home.

Tonya Tidwell, 32, Ryan Spark, 29, and Jimmie Lee Winkles, 23, were charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in the death of 35-year-old David Eric Guice.

Authorities went to Guice’s home on Odyssey Trail on Jan. 5 and found him dead, Forsyth sheriff’s office officials said.

“Deputies at the scene recalled a recent traffic stop and arrest that had been made a few days prior near this location,” sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Doug Rainwater said in a release. “A search of those records revealed that a female arrested had given her home address as the same location as where the deceased was found.”

Police later arrested Tidwell and Spark in connection with the crime. Winkles was arrested Sunday at his home in Banks County.

Authorities have not said what connection the three people had to Guice. The GBI is investigating the cause of death.

All three suspects are being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center.
