Brookhaven’s popular Cherry Blossom Festival will kick off this year during the last weekend of March, the city announced.

The spring celebration, which features art, music, food and vendors, will take place March 28 and 29 in Blackburn Park, officials said in a statement.

The sixth annual festival is free to attend. The musical lineup and schedule have not yet been released.

Organizers are still looking for food and artist vendors. Interested applicants should visit the festival's website and click on "vendors."

A week before the festival, on March 21, the city is hosting the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival 5K, which takes runners through Blackburn Park. Registration for the race is now open online.
