A major Atlanta materials handling firm is moving its operations to Clayton County, bringing 100 jobs and millions of dollars in investment.
Briggs Equipment will officially announce its move Friday at a press conference at its new facility near Hartsfield International Airport.
The company purchased more than 120,000 square feet of space on Aviation Parkway. It will house sales and operations, including equipment and parts sales, service and rentals. It plans to hire dozens of people during the next two years. , and plans to hire dozens of new positions within the next two years. The employee-owned company is one of the oldest materials handling equipment firms in the country. It provides short and long-term rentals, sell parts, service equipment, and sell new and used premier materials handling equipment.
“We are committed to the Atlanta market, and our expansion plans into Clayton County will provide a strategic platform to allow us to successfully grow where our clients can easily access our team,” said Darrell Williams, Briggs’ regional vice president.
The Clayton site is only the second facility Briggs owns and it is second in size only to its Houston facility.
