Belmont, a 48-acre mixed-use development in Smyrna, will have a grand opening celebration Sept. 24.

For many, it'll be the first time checking out the new property, which encompasses a 47,593-square-foot retail (The Shops at Belmont), a 153-house subdivision (Village of Belmont) and a 274-unit apartment community (Alta Belmont).

Developed by Halpern Enterprises, the former Belmont Hills Shopping Center site includes four restaurants: Opa Greek Village Taverna, Torta Di Napoli, Cielo Grill and Creatwood Tavern. It also has six businesses: Belmont Cleaners, Hearing Solutions, a shoe boutique named Ms. Heel, N-Style barber shop, Parisian Nail Salon and Sprint Wireless.

Entertainment scheduled for the event includes a live band, face painter, balloon artist and caricaturist. If none of that grabs your attention, how about this? Free popsicles by King of Pops.
