Soccer fever has spread throughout metro Atlanta as Atlanta United begins its inaugural season in Major League Soccer on Sunday.

As part of Takeover Tuesday and "March to Soccer" week, the club hosted a scavenger hunt to distribute 2,017 'unite and conquer' flags in honor of its 2017 season.

Team representatives ventured out to Piedmont Park, Marietta Square, Ponce and other neighborhoods to get fans ready for Sunday.

Take a look at how Atlanta fans are proudly displaying their flags:

In case you don't have a flag to hang around your neighborhood, there's still time to get one. Fans can receive a free flag with purchase at the Atlantic Station merchandise store on Friday.

Atlanta United FC will open the season against the New York Red Bulls at Bobby Dodd Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
